5 Reasons I Love My Big
Brittany Clark

In a sorority, you are blessed to have a Big and get a Little. Throughout my time in my organization, I have been beyond blessed to have the best big in the world. (Not that I am partial or anything). She is intelligent, kind, beautiful, loving, generous, and the most selfless person. She works hard in her job, her not one but TWO majors, and she still finds time to be involved in a sorority and other organizations. When thinking of things to thank my big for, there are five top things I want her to know.

1. Thank you for not judging me when I stress out all the time.

Even though you have so much on your plate, you still listen and take my stressors seriously. You have never discredited what I am going through but instead build me up and assure me that I can get the homework done, ace the test, or make it to that meeting. Whenever I stress I just pull out my phone and call or text you and you immediately help me calm down.

2. Thank you for listening to all my rants.

It can be something you have already said was a bad idea that I did anyway, something that happened in a class that is annoying me, or just something random like I messed up my makeup but you still listen to me rant in our car rides, read my text messages that are more like books, and make me feel validated. Oh and you always have my back and are totally ready to defend me against whoever.

3. Thank you for taking care of me when I'm sick.

There have been countless times when I am sick and you take me to the doctor, buy me medicine, bring me food, or literally whatever it takes. I do not understand with your schedule how you manage to do all this...but you always do.

4. Thank you for building me up.

I can be having the worst day of my life and you can make my day a million times better just by making me laugh or reminding me of something crazy. You have numerous times helped me go from crying to smiling in a matter of seconds.

5. Thank you for being YOU.

You are someone I admire so much. You are true to yourself, you believe in yourself, you never get discouraged. You are honestly a complete and wonderful role model. Someone who people look up to and go to for advice. I am so proud to not only call you my big but also my best friend.

So Big, I love you! This is just a small thank you for all you do!

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
