Fall; Coming Soon

Tis the Season For Pumpkin

It has been one hot summer full of being able to wear less clothes, all day pool time, and lemonade stands to quench the thirst of the sun beating down on us. This season is coming to an end while another is just around the corner. And you know what that means? It is time to put your clothes back on people, it is time for pools to close and people to start wearing scarves with their boots. Fall is coming.

Fall is my favorite season because it is warm enough to not wear big fluffy jackets, but cool enough to wear long sleeves. Also did I mention pumpkin flavor everything? Pumpkin pie, pumpkin coffee, pumpkin donuts. OH MY!

September 22nd is supposed to be the first day of Fall officially. One month, two days and counting. One of the most exciting parts is when I start to see the leaves of trees change slowly from green to orange, red, and brown. Then when I walk down the sidewalk, the wind that blows actually gives me chills and I have to rubs my hands against my arms.

Halloween and Thanksgiving are two very different holidays yet they happen during the same season. Halloween is one of my favorite holidays because you get to dress up as anything you want for the day with no judgement. And the candy is a plus. I am planning to be a girl minion for Halloween this year if I can. I love minions. Especially Bob.

Thanksgiving is one of the best holidays. Turkey or honey baked ham, stuffing with cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie. Also this holiday provides you time with your family which sometimes is stressful if you don't see each much. I love walking into my grandparents house, both of the houses smell like all of food baked into one giant burrito ready for you to eat. And after you stuff yourself until you have to loosen your belt a little, you can sit down and talk with all your loved ones.

I can't wait for Fall. It is the season where you can find everything that has pumpkin in it and not be ashamed. So goodbye Summer, see you next year. And hopefully it won't be too hot like this year has been. Hello Fall, I am ready for you!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
