OK, let's just be real. High School and College are on two totally different planets. Galaxies even! Seriously though, I think if you are an upcoming freshman then you need to read this because I promise, it will save your life!

1. Bring quarters

When I say bring quarters, BRING THEM! When you live on campus, you typically only have your dorm's laundry room to wash your clothes. It gets EXPENSIVE! I wash a good three loads of laundry every week! It adds up to be around nine dollars in quarters might I add to wash what I need. Annoying right? So bring them quarters!!

2. Don't procrastinate

I know that we can all honestly say that we have waited until the last minute to do an assignment am I right? Either a little two question assignment or in my case, an eight page paper! College has transformed me into a different person like I'm so serious. I get stuff done a few days in advance unlike my first semester when I waited until the night before. It is really easy to procrastinate but you really can't do it! You will feel so much better about yourself if you just bite the bullet and do it!

3. STUDY

Yes, you have been told by teachers all of your life to study. Do you actually study? Probably not. Well, you really need to when you hit college level. Yeah you will have some stupidly easy classes but unless you are a genius then you will have to study! Study at least a week in advance for 30 minutes a day. I promise, this will be so helpful! Fun fact, I'm currently taking Astronomy and it is the most difficult class I have ever taken. BUT I study!

4. Get Involved

Grades are extremely important but you have to be involved with something on campus. Being involved can help you by having friends that will aid you in your classes! It also helps by de-stressing you a little. The classes that you're going to be taking are going to be hard and stressful so you are going to need a place where you can go to relax with friends!!

5. Go to class regularly

It is so easy to skip class in college because you have a set number of days you can miss and the teachers do not care what days they are. The only problem is that when you miss class, you miss the lesson. It's not like high school where the teachers tell you what you miss. The professors in college expect you to find out for yourself! They are not going to chase you down. So when you want to skip that 8 a.m, don't do it! Make yourself get up, get ready, and GO!

Your first semester of freshman year will be an eye-opener! It's going to be stressful but an amazing ride! Get Ready!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
