Welcome to the New Year Everyone! As the year 2018 starts, many people have personal goals that they want to obtain and want to change their life for the better! Changes in your life can be hard to adjust, but slowly and surely your life can change for the better if you start little. Ever wake up one day out of your bed and have this large amount of stress, anxiety, or frustration etc. weighing on your back?!! You feel as though your world is chaotic and just don't know what to do. Everyone has had those days where they don't want to get out of their bed and just stay there.

However if you want to get through those tough rainy days, starting by doing small things that provide you that boost of confidence and energy to get through the day. Here are my top 10 things I recommend to help you get started on your bright day!

1. Try to make your own bed each morning

Waking up each morning out of your bed can be a struggle in general! However if you make the effort to make your each morning after you wake up, you can feel accomplished by doing your first task of the day! That one small detail can create a ripple effect where you can do many other things onto your to do list.

2. Planning your outfit for the next day.

Now ladies this can be tough for us especially, where we have so many clothes at our disposal, that it can drive you insane on what to wear! Picking out an outfit can be time consuming, cause you to be indecisive, and make you feel stressed! However if you chose your outfit beforehand at night and have it laid out for the next day, you won't have to stress and just simply put it on! Also since you took the time and consideration to pick out your clothing, you feel empowered and comfortable in your skin!

3. Write a to-do list.

**A To-Do List can be your best friend!** It seems simple and easy in which everyone can do, however some people get overwhelmed when they see the amount of things listed. My best advice for anyone who has never done a to-do list would be to list 5 important items of the day and start with the most difficult tasks in the beginning! When you have gone through the toughest parts of your day, you feel accomplished and survived the day.

4. Mediate or pray at the beginning of the day.

It's important to feel calm and peaceful in your soul and have some type of spirituality. Now if you wake up feeling stressed or just know today is going to be a long day, go to Youtube and play some of your favorite soothing music or close your eyes and count your breaths slowly. Breathe in and out. If you are religious you can also pray and hope for the best.

5. Keep a journal.

This pretty much explains on what journaling can do for your life, but also you can draw characters or words to describe your most personal thoughts.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
