Ah yes, the age old "Aunt Flow" and the monthly visit from "that friend". Sadly, as women, we have to go through excruciating cramp pain, headaches, and nausea. I mean we were built to carry another human, which is insane, and we are strong and capable to do all these things and take on our everyday lives. Cramps and periods in general suck, but I have a few tricks up my sleeve to make your week a little bit better.
1. Surround yourself with positive people.
Or just people who make you feel good. When you surround yourself with positive people, it's going to uplift your mood, and stray your mind away from how horrible you feel. Being around people who are negative and don't uplift you will make you even more angry than you already were when you woke up.
2. Use Icy Hot
This will be your best friend when you are rushing to get to a morning class and woke up with your "friend." First, it cools you down when you're sweating from just sitting there in bed. Then, you will feel a tingly feeling on your back or stomach releasing the tight ache that was once there.
3. Drink water
Drinking plenty of water will cleanse your body and keep you feeling awake. It also helps with headaches.
4. Stretch out your body.
No one really wants to work out on their period but stretching out your back and pelvis will release any pain and will get your body moving everything the way it needs to. So remember sitting in a ball is bad!
5. Eat chocolate/treat yourself
You for sure deserve chocolate or something special when your having lady problems. So girl, go buy yourself that extra chunky chocolate ice cream, you'll thank yourself later.
6. Cry
This one speaks for itself, but let yourself cry. Otherwise, you'll be bottling up your emotions and you'll end up yelling at someone important (sorry mom).
7. Use stress relief products/scents
Whether it's essential oils, candles, or a body scrub, it will help you relax a little or remind you of a time when you weren't in pain.
