Your grades are a reflection of your daily habits. If you come back from school/college and immediately get started on your assignments without procrastination, you are somewhat guaranteed higher grades than someone going home and taking naps and watching YouTube. You have your entire life ahead to relax, but now is the only time you have to fix your grades. One day, all your hard work will pay off.
It may be tempting to use lunch as a time to socialize with your friends and forget your responsibilities. However, using your break periods to complete assignments or study for upcoming tests would be a more productive use of your time. Studying in small groups during lunch is another alternative if you work better with other people. When studying with other people, keep the group small to maintain concentration.
There are some concepts that cannot be learned through watching a YouTube tutorial, so it is essential to get help from your teachers. Depending on whether you are in high school or college, there are different ways to reach out to your teacher. Either email them or schedule a time for a meeting to discuss your questions.
10-1 and 3-6 Sleep Schedule
If you have loads of assignments to complete, tests to study for and projects to finish, but you want to get a decent amount of sleep, use this method to optimize your sleep schedule. Be as productive as possible until 10pm. Then, set an alarm for 1 a.m., and sleep from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. When you wake up at 1 a.m., you will feel energized. Use this burst of energy to complete a few hours worth of work. Go back to sleep around 3 a.m. (you will naturally feel tired around this time). When you wake up at 6 a.m., you will feel well rested without sacrificing the completion of your tasks.
As you may already know, drinking coffee energizes you and helps you stay up later at night, so you can finish your assignments. Coffee also helps you focus and get through the day without constantly yawning in your classes.
Go on walks, or spend time in nature.
Take 10 minute breaks between assignments to take walks and absorb the beauty of nature. This takes your mind off of academics and allows you to relieve stress.
Get a tutor.
Getting the assistance of a personal tutor can help you acheive your academic goals. In a classroom setting, the pacing is not aligned with your learning style, which can make absorbing information during class difficult. A tutor can personalize his/her teaching to suit your learning style.
Do not give up, and stay consistent. Studying for 1 hour every day is far more efficient than studying for 5 hours the day before the test. Information needs to be reviewed constantly. "Use it or lose it."
