The holiday season is getting closer, it's a great time for friends and family but it can also be a time filled with stress.
Don't go on a buying frenzy
Presents Under Tree
Gifts are great, we love to give and receive presents but it's not worth breaking your bank over. The importance of the holidays is to spend time with loved ones, not buying them the newest iPhone on the market, and if you're really set on getting your friends gifts, a little something is fine, it's always the thought that counts anyway.
Also, remember to stick to a budget, your bank account will thank you later.
Pick your people
Dinner time
PixabaySome people have worse effects on us than others, and some family may not be the best when it comes to treating you right. So do yourself a huge favor, if being around certain people affects your mental health for the worst, don't even both visiting them.
No one wants to be depressed at dinner.
Dodge the questions
Family time
Sometimes our family means well, but what comes out their mouth instead doesn't show it. And some grandmothers know the way behind a backhanded compliment. So try to dodge the pesky, in-your-face questions or just answer them up front.
"Yes grandma, I've gained weight. And no, I haven't graduated yet."
Make plans
Plans

No one wants to run around all day on Thanksgiving or Christmas.
Relax
Time for yourself

It's easier said than done, but make sure you make time for yourself. It's hard to enjoy the holidays if you're stressed out and running around like a chicken with their head cut off.
So relax, drink some eggnog, and remember what the holiday season is really about.
