Have an open mind.

This sounds so cliche because everyone constantly says it because it's true. Try not to focus on one sorority the entire time, try to find a quality you like about each chapter. The house you might love could end up dropping you at the end of the day, so be open about the options you have. Even if there is a chapter you were unsure about, once you give them another chance you might end up loving them and realize it is a better fit for you than you thought.

Stay positive!

Recruitment is long and hard for both potential new members and recruiters. Girls lose their voices and walking in a dress and heels all day can start to get old. Focus on all of the awesome girls you are making connections with and get excited to find your forever home.

Get close with your Rho Gammas.

Rho Gammas are girls who disaffiliate from their sororities to help potential new members with their schedules, provide emotional support and help girls make tough decisions. They are here to help you, and they are all so sweet. Take advantage.

Don't take things too personally.

There are so many factors to consider when calling or not calling girls back to a chapter. Getting dropped is upsetting, especially if it is a house that has stuck with you for a while and you thought you had a great connection. The conversation could have not gone as planned or you just didn't click with one of the recruiters. Don't waste your time trying to come up with reasons why you were dropped. Just move on and focus on the houses that want you.

Choose a chapter where you can be yourself.

The most important part is ending up in a chapter where you feel comfortable to be yourself. You will be spending the rest of the college with these girls. You want to have fun and be able to grow great relationships with your sisters and be able to build an amazing support system.

You are a strong, beautiful woman no matter what.

Recruitment is an emotional roller-coaster for everyone involved. If you end up in a sorority or not, you are a beautiful young woman. A sorority does not define who you are. You do.

Joining a sorority is not for everyone, but you will never know until you try. Being in a sorority provides so many opportunities to make new friends, get involved on campus, find a group of mentors, job connections and being part of an amazing sisterhood.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
