I'm over halfway done with my second year of college, and I'm still trying to figure my sh*t out. As a freshman, I can honestly say that I had no idea what I was doing or what I needed to do in order to be successful.
Although I'm a mess half the time, I think I'm close to figuring out what the hell I need to do in order to get my life together.
Now that I'm a little older and a bit wiser, I finally have some tips to tackle the struggle of college life — and this applies to high schoolers, too!
1. Stay on top of your sh*t
This is truly the key to survival. I'm pretty terrible at this. But, whateveryou need to do to stay on top of your sh*t, do it.
There is nothing worse than falling weeks behind on your assignments. Do not procrastinate. Plan. Prioritize. Then party after.
2. Get involved in something, literally anything
Experience is major. It's what employers are looking for, and will come in handy in the long run. Whether it be a club or an internship, go out there and get it!This is where you can make friends and gain connections on campus. You'll thank yourself later.
3. Say 'yes' to everything
Okay, don't say yes to anything stupid or dangerous, but get outside of your comfort zone! Every time I've agreed to do something that was outside of my comfort zone, I have never regretted it. It has given me amazing opportunities, introduced me to new people and has taught me major lessons about life.
There is no single set list to be successful in college, but these three tips are key in getting your life together, optimizing your time and making the most out of your college experience.
