10 Times 'How I Met Your Mother' Had The Best Advice For College Students

"How I Met Your Mother" isn't just one of the best shows to have ever been on television, it also offered some of the best life and love advice that I will carry throughout my life. They say Netflix is a waste of time, but HIMYM is always there to prove them wrong.

Here are 10 moments when HIMYM had the best advice for college students.

1. "Sometimes you realize the journey you've been taking has reached its final stop, so the question becomes: Where do you go next?"

It's okay to strive for one goal and then realize that you don't know what to do next. To go to graduate school? Get a job? Lie in bed and cry? All of them?

2. "Sometimes we search for one thing, but we discover another."
Maybe what you've been searching for turns out to be something else entirely (like maybe switching college majors, amirite?)

3. "The great moments of your life won't necessarily be the things you do, but the things that happen to you."

Even if you try to plan out your college experience, things will go differently. Good things will happen, bad things will happen, and when you look back on it, you will realize that some of the best things were totally out of your control.

4. "You keep giving up on people so quickly that you're going to miss something great."
Applicable for people or for opportunities ... take them. Say hello to someone new, or try a new club. You never know when you will discover a new hobby, interest or person that is going to change your life.

5. "You can't jump straight to the end. The journey is the best part."

Somehow, I wouldn't skip sobbing over finals or pulling my hair out over deadlines just to get my diploma. It may be one hell of a ride, but Robin Scherbatsky knows that we should just enjoy the process.

6. "Maybe I don't want to be saved the trouble. Maybe I want the trouble. I haven't wanted trouble in a long time, but with you, the trouble doesn't seem so troubling."
If you're lucky enough to be working towards something you really care about, midnight essays and early morning exams might not seem so bad (in retrospect).

7. "You can't move backwards. You can only move forwards."
Mistakes happen. Whether it's not working as hard as you could have on an essay or having one too many drinks, the best thing you can do is just wait it out and learn from your experience.

8. "When it's after 2 a.m., just go to sleep. Because the decisions you make after 2 a.m. are always the wrong decisions."

Ain't that the truth. We all know it. (That late night pizza didn't seem so bad, though).

9. "If you're not scared, you're not taking a chance. If you're not taking a chance, then what the hell are you doing?"

This is your time to try new things. Some of them will be scary, but you'll regret not taking an opportunity. Things will be terrifying and confusing. Things will be overwhelming, but the payoff will be worth it.

10. "Challenge accepted."

These might be some of the craziest years of your life, but all the challenges that get thrown your way send you one step closer to success. It may sound corny, but accept the challenges that college will bring, and make the best of it.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
