Your Time Isn't Forever

Oh how time flies by.

It may seem like you have all the time in the world. But oh how quickly time goes. Time doesn't last, and time isn't forever.

In August I moved here to Mississippi State, and at first, there seemed to be so much time. There was time to meet new people at New Maroon Camp, adjust to being away from home, and truly get settled into my dorm room.

From there, classes began and came more adjusting such as learning how to fit time in for school work when classes seem so short sometimes and there are endless opportunities for what to do with spare time.

Classes then begin to pick up their pace and at that point, the workload may become overwhelming. Suddenly you're wishing for fall break to hurry up because you need a break from all the test weeks.

But after fall break, time seems to fly. I know it sure did for me. I met more people after the break. I met people who now I feel like I have known forever. Oh, how time does fly.

A month later comes Thanksgiving Break and as soon as that ends there are two weeks until winter break. In the brief two weeks, much of it is spent studying, whether that be for the last test prior to the final or the final itself.

It is easy to then wish the time would hurry up in order for you to go back home. You take your finals and are grateful they are over, and then you head home. For the first time in a while, you no longer see the people you saw constantly. You realize that now you have two homes, the one you grew up in as well as your new-found home at college.

Being back in your hometown is always great. After being away from it while at college, you return to your hometown with a newfound appreciation for where you were raised and what you experienced along the way.

You also come to miss your new home and the people you surround yourself with while there, and when you come back for the second semester, you are so happy to be with them again. As they say, time does fly when you're having fun because before you know it spring break approaches.

With the end of the school year coming before we know it, let's be appreciative of the times we have had here both good and bad and the lessons and experiences we have been blessed to have.

Because, at the end of the day, time doesn't last and time isn't forever. But the memories are.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
