Time is ticking.

No one can ever extrapolate the true meaning of life; we can only construct an understanding on our own unique experiences. It's truly what you make it out to be, and your actions pave the pathway. Negatives and positives will arise, and we just have to learn to cope with each.

Time is ticking.

Tick, tick, tick. How will you spend your time? Speaking for myself, I still cannot comprehend the mere fact that I am a 20-year-old junior in college. I've dealt with many situations in which I sometimes wish I can go back in time and redo my actions. I wonder how differently my life could've gone in the many hypothetical alternative scenarios that race through my mind. However, some things you just can't simply regret; you must trust your gut instinct to make the best decision given the cards on hand at the time.

Every now and then, we are disappointed. Disappointed by strangers, ourselves, close friends, family, and the list can go on. We are so caught up on the fact that our trust had laid within the actions of these individuals and they betrayed that trust, only leading to pain for yourself. The problem is, we often forgive and forget, especially after a break-up with a significant other. We forget the pain that was caused by these people and we let them walk back into our lives to hurt us all over again, once more, for that one last time. All of that in mind just because doing so is a place where we feel familiar and comfortable. This, however, is not leading to a more fulfilled life or the ability to experience the world, it is causing you to regress on your journey to being able to love someone else in the future.

To those that say you should love yourself first before anyone else, you are spot-on. Knowing what you want in life as well as setting the expectation for that next person who walks into it is essential. Life throws us in situations that are less than ideal a good majority of the time, but it is what you take from those situations that will ultimately determine your fate. You have a reason to be on this planet and a reason to be alive. There is a destiny for all. Reach for the stars. Each person also has their own truth, in which it is our job to dig deeper into our thoughts and reflect them onto our lives. The concept of life is complex and full of surprises.

Stop it. Don't invest your precious time thinking about little aspects of life we can't control. Listen and look for the small clues in life that guide each and every one of us through our journeys. Some situations cannot be changed and are beyond our control. We live and learn. You're powerful, capable, and have the ability to fight through the fire to the end. Brighter times are ahead.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
