When we are little, we experience life a lot slower. The sun in the sky falls slower, the bugs don't move as fast and play dates with our friends seem longer. Being little you always think being an adult will never come. That we can play with our toys a little bit longer, but sooner or later our toys turn into bills, responsibilities that as kids never seemed to be closer than they appeared. As we grow older, the time flies by.

We end up in high school, where theres ACTs, SATs and college applications. Then out of nowhere, here comes college, and they say High School goes fast. College goes even faster. My first semester seemed slow of course, its something new that everyone needs time to get adjusted to. By the time Christmas break came around, I was surprised. Spending a month away from school? How could I do that when being at school became so comfortable for me. Time really does fly by.

As my first year came to a close I never realized how fast college actually goes. One day I am moving away from my family for 9 months and being on my own for the first time in my life and then the next minute I am back with my family working with my best friends. Schools out and everyone is ready for the summer. The hot weather, pool days with your friends and fun summer nights, but to only realize that it will soon come to an end. Time sure flies by that fast.

We always fight to slow down the time, when we are having fun its like it is never a factor. We fight to keep the time from moving. We think to ourselves, "does time really control everything or do we control time." Yes, it is a huge factor in our lives, it tells us when to wake up, when to eat, and when to be on time. But what if we didnt have to have worry about these things, what if the worlds time revolved around us? Can time fly by then?

As we grow older, time will be counted the same, but as life goes on it can be spent differently. We are expected to keep track of time so we can go onto the next thing, but choose to challenge. Pick to make your time truly your time. Have fun, do what you want to do. Make the sun fall slower in your eyes to make the days longer, make the bugs no longer move fast and have endless days and nights with your friends. Because yes, time flies by but memories last forever.
