After countless nights of studying till 3 am, eating ramen noodles, and waiting for that exam grade to come in -- time has come where we can finally relax for a whole 3 weeks. So what we really need to do to recuperate from our first semester is to detox. I'm sure the Netflix binging has commenced as well as the waking-up-at-1p.m. routine. But, here are a few ways to really get your mind clear of any stress or unnecessary clutter.
Tidy Space = Tidy Mind.
I know that when it comes to cleaning- most people would rather flop on the couch and just watch re-runs. But, trust me when I say, sometimes tidying up your room and alternate living space is the best way to "de-clutter" your mind.
Journal
I know that some of you might have already started binge-watching Netflix shows -- but when your eyes need a break from the computer screen, try journaling! Write about how finals week went to really get that stress out, or even something that has been bothering you. But just get it out! You'll feel that much more relaxed and stress free after you really address what's going on in that brain of yours.
Exercise
There's no better time to start a work-out regimen than during winter break. I know we all want to just sit, watch TV, and eat food all day long -- but getting a quick workout in during the morning, afternoon, or even the evening can help you feel energized for the day!
Long Drives
Go for a long drive! I know it may sound kinda cheesy -- but go for a drive; let yourself get lost; forget about school and all your worries. Trust me, this is one of the best things for a detox. Take a friend if you're really afraid of getting lost (or if you're like me and your GPS hates you when you really need it) and just let go. (but as always -- drive safe!)
