It's Time To End The Pineapple Pizza Debate

Pineapple does belong on pizza!!!!!

The Pineapple on Pizza Debate refers to the longstanding argument surrounding the merits of Hawaiian pizza. Some people don't like the sweet and savory. Thinking pineapple pizza seems way too weird. Well, I say don't knock it till you try it. The so-called Hawaiian pizza (pineapple-and-ham) was actually invented in Canada in the 1960s. And Oregon is the state where pineapple pizza is ordered the most, followed by Maine, California and Nevada.

in 2017 a pizza delivery app called Slice surveyed 34,000 people about the pizza controversies. Turns out 54 percent of respondents (of 9,474 that voted on the question) said no, pineapple does not belong on pizza. But that means 46 percent of people still give pineapple pizza their blessings and praises.

Throughout the year, there's been plenty of heated debate on Twitter and other social media platforms about pineapple as a pizza topping. There was even a Facebook page launched in December 2009 named "Pineapple do NOT belong on Pizza!"; it gained over 1,600 likes.

But just because Gordon Ramsay frowns upon putting pineapple on pizza doesn't mean its an abomination. There have been far grosser combinations of foods, for example, peanut butter and pickle sandwiches.

Recently, in 2017 the pineapple on pizza debate resurfaced with a tweet from the user @OriginalSDM. it received over 120,000 retweets and is credited by Buzzfeed as reigniting the debate.

The hatred for pineapple pizza has gone pretty far. In Arizona, one pizza maker went so far as to apparently decline to top a delivery order with pineapple but was this all for some internet attention. The disappointed recipient shared the results in a now-viral tweet, after receiving cash back and an apologetic note along with her pineapple-free pizza.

As the jokes continue to fly, the debate for whether pineapple belongs on pizza could wage forever. Seemingly it is almost fifty/fifty on people who think pineapple on pizza is a sin and people who think its a blessing. It all comes down to personal preferences and taste buds. Personally, I enjoy the contrast that pineapple gives to the pizza sauce when it's on pizza and there are plenty of people out there to back pineapple on pizza. Especially when dipped in ranch, but that's a whole other debate.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
