You fall. But you do not just stumble, you collide with the earth. You dive past the ocean's shallow ends to the deepest reefs to see the bottom of the darkest depths of the ocean. You exasperate yourself by sprinting towards that light that you frequently see at the end of that long, narrow tunnel. You thrust your entire body full force into every opportunity, thinking that you have discovered the place you belong and can call home.
However, each time, your heart is not full. You are disconnected. You are disappointed. You are not satisfied. You understand there is a piece of the puzzle still missing.
So what do you tend to do? You meet new people, but they still end up breaking your spirit. You adventure to new places, but they still do not feel like home. You find new things, but they cannot fill up the emptiness within your heart. You try to fill a void that seems to be there and you cannot shake.
Maybe you are feeling this way because all along, your life was not meant to be stagnant. You were meant to keep meeting people, to keep adventuring to new places, and to keep discovering new things. You were meant to be free and run wild, instead of being locked into the same situation.
Maybe each disappointment was a reminder that you deserve to keep searching for your happiness. Maybe each person that broke your heart was meant to show you that you are yours, and no one else's. Maybe each obstacle was meant to demonstrate what strength you have developed over the years. Maybe each dead end was a detour pointing you on the correct path for your life.
Why are you meant to live this kind of life? Wasn't everyone meant to have stability and control of their destination? Aren't we supposed to be able to convert our dreams into our realities?
Maybe dreaming is your reality. Maybe life's reality for you has been too harsh that dreaming is the only peace you find. Maybe you have finally come to the realization that developing new dreams is the key to your happiness.
But how do you know that this kind of life is meant for you? How do you comprehend the fact that you are meant to constantly wander instead of having a home? How do you find comfort when your life is meant to be unexpected?
After so many tears, after so many heartbreaks, after so many disappointments, and after so many mistakes, you realize that you are not in control. People will always hurt you, and you learn to keep a few in your pocket that are worth the pain. Places will always breed unsettling memories, and you learn to create positive ones in the same spots. Things will always be desired, and you learn to value the ones that truly mean the most. You understand what is significant in your life, and what you can let go of.
Letting go has never been easy for you because you thought the entire time you were meant to settle. But believe in the fact that settling only brings you more trouble. Becoming complacent with your life is the greatest pain of all. You know what you deserve, and you will not stop chasing after it. You know your worth and will not tolerate anything less.
But what I want you to remember through all of this, is that your life is still beautiful. Your life is your journey, and you must own it to find the joy from the experience. You are still whole just because a person, place, or thing cannot tie you down. You deserve to wander, dream, and chase your heart's content. Anyone who tells you otherwise is just another person of your past. Spread your wings and do not look back, your dreams are what will help you soar.
