The Clock Don't Stop.

Mind Trap

Everything we do revolves around time: What time we have to be at work, what time we have to be at that important meeting, and so forth. We are always checking our watches or our phones for the time.Yes, do not get me wrong. Timing is everything in the sense that we rely on it all day everyday. And not even in that sense, we rely on the term "timing" on what "place" we are in our lives. But, that leads to the problem. We always constantly say it isn't the right time to date someone, or isn't the right time to take that dream job, or it isn't the right time to travel to that one place that's on your bucket list. That being said, life slips beneath our fingers. The clock doesn't stop. Days pass, months go by, and years fly by. You never know what the next day is going to bring. As cruel and as much of a reality check it is, one day you are here and the next day you could possibly not be. Crazy things happen in this world. So one thing. Do not regret chances you didn't take because that is what makes life so much more difficult, and precious.

So, do the things you've always wanted. Date that person if you can't get them off your mind, or if they are 10,000 miles from you. You will work it out together on how to make it work, even though it won't be the easiest thing in the world. That person isn't always going to be there, and years later you could be looking back at how you should've given him or her a chance and not wasted it. Take that dream job you got offered, even if it does require you to travel a lot because that opportunity won't come back to you in the future, and you will be devastated that you didn't jump on it when you could. Go on that vacation to your dream spot even if it is going to cost money and even if you have to take off a few days from work. Do things that YOU want to do. Life is beyond short, and you do not know what ups, downs, or in-betweens it is going to throw at you.

Our generation especially loves to waste time with the common phrase "our time is not right now" or "with what is going on in my life right now, I can't take this job or go on vacation." Why not? Once one is asked, the why not? They do not know how to respond. If you care about someone so deeply, be with them. It could open the greatest doors and could make you the happiest person in the world. You as a human being deserve to be happy and feel wanted. You can't help who you love. Take that chance, because they will find someone else, and you will regret it beyond belief. If you have worked so hard your whole entire life in school or on your career, and you get offered your dream job making more money and being beyond successful, why wouldn't you take it? Fulfill the dreams that you've been dreaming about since you were five years old. Don't stop, and fight. Take that job, risk it. Go on that vacation, you deserve time to relax and enjoy yourself when most days you don't feel like that. We are always on the move in our lives, and we never give time to ourselves. Go on vacation and take that week of work off, you deserve it. Stop saying no, and that the time isn't right right now. The time is ALWAYS right. Wanna know why? Because everything happening in your life right now will either leave or stay. The future will tell. But it is up to YOU to make that decision with a person you could possibly spend your life with, what job you will let pass or take, and what vacation you decide to pass or take. Remember, once again, the clock doesn't stop.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
