Dogs are amazing. I LOVE dogs. I love my dogs so much, that I recently threw them a birthday party; a decorated, present-filled, cake-eating birthday party. It was fabulous. I think that all dogs deserve a party once in a while, and since they have trouble throwing parties for themselves, it is up to us to throw them one. To make it easier for you, I have created a list of steps you must follow to throw your dog the best dog-gone birthday party in town!

1. Date

When planning any party, the first step is picking the date. For your dog's party, it can be literally any date. You can aim for close to your pup's birthday or for the day you got them!

2. Guest List

If your dog gets along with other dogs, or you simply have friends who love dogs, invite them! The more dogs the better! You could even get them cute hats.

3. Invites

In order to get your dog's friends to come to the party, you will need to send invites. This is an opportunity to make fun cute dog-themed invitations. It's worth it. Handmade invites are great, but Evites are also nice!

4. Decorations

Decorations are a must. My party was a half birthday party, half gotcha day party to celebrate the day we adopted them, so this was the banner. You can make any type of banner you want, though. I also recommend balloons, streamers, and tissue paper flowers. Just watch that your pup doesn't try to eat them!

5. Food

Dogs love food. They love it. My dog's favorites include peanut butter and pumpkin. Also, Pinterest is a great place to find dog cake recipes. That's where I found this gem of a recipe.

6. Presents

Presents aren't really required, but they are appreciated. Your dog would love new treats and toys. I suggest tennis balls and rope toys. Load them up!

7. Music

If you're gonna have a party, you're gonna need music. Spotify has lots of dog-themed albums including songs like Who Let The Dogs Out? and Puppy Love. Music really adds to the ambiance of the party.

8. Games

Puppies love to play. Organizing some doggy games like fetch and water games will keep your pup and his friends entertained for hours. Your dog will love getting to run around with his friends, and you will have some pooped pups by the end of the night.

In the end, no matter what you do to make your furry friend feel special it will be appreciated by both your dog and your dog's friends. Your pup loves you no matter what, and throwing them a party is a great way of showing them how much you love them too! So get to it! Set the date and start planning the best birthday bash of the year!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
