Thoughts While In The Shower: College Edition

Showering at college is much different than showering at home. I don't know if it's just me overthinking, but I have some interesting thoughts in the shower that I feel like maybe some people would possibly, hopefully, but probably not relate to. This might end up being too much information for the internet to know, but I clearly do not care.

First of all, the shower shoes. You look down, and you are wearing flip-flops in the shower. Now, I went to sleep away camp for a good portion of my childhood (shout-out to Chipinaw), so this was not a big deal to me. But, sleep away camp was for two months. The bottom of my feet are probably pissed that they haven't been in contact with water for god knows how long. For those of you who don't wear flip-flops in the shower, you are doing something very wrong. You probably have several diseases and I strongly recommend getting your life together. No one wants to die from a foot disease because they "didn't wear shower shoes". That is the worst way to die. Why am I laughing at this? Moving on..

Not sure if this applies to boys, but why is there so much hair on the walls? I don't just mean a strand of hair here and there. I mean legit hair is sprawled on the walls. Do people not know to step a little bit away from the walls when shampooing? The showers aren't that small, I have yet to come in contact with the shower walls out of my own fear.

At the beginning of school, I didn't want to play music while I was in the shower. Mostly because of the fact that my music ranges from old Jesse McCartney to Lil Uzi to Mariah Carey Christmas music in the middle of September. Once I started to realize everyone does play their weird range of music, I decided why not jam out in the shower. Basically, no one is judging your music and odds are they might even be "shazaming" the song. Nothing like having a dance party in your shower shoes with other peoples hair around you, am I right?

I realized that I tend to just think about all the work I have to do in the shower. The best part of this is that the amount of work might make you stressed out and want to cry. I know you're thinking, "why is that considered the best part?". If you are in the shower, you don't know if it's your tears or just the water from the shower. I mean, low-key you know it's your tears, but don't worry only you will ever know the truth. Sometimes you just have to have your own therapy session in the shower, it happens.

The shower is really your only privacy in college. The showers might be totally nasty and make you cringe at times, but we are forever thankful for them. Remember, always wear your shower shoes and blast those throwbacks in the shower. Also, if you are person who is getting their hair all over the shower walls, I really don't like you.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
