6 Thoughts Every TCU Student Has During Finals

Finals week is rapidly approaching. The library is filling up and our stress levels are continously rising. Here are thoughts that every TCU student has during finals week.

1. The library is too full

Even with the library expansions, there is nowhere near enough room to study during finals week. Every section is packed and the amount of people in there is stressing you out. There is no parking and it seems to be full from early in the morning until late at night. You have to find another building or coffee shop to study at to give yourself a change of scenery.

2. Frantically refreshing grades

You check all of your grades multiple times a day. You are praying that your professors put your grades in soon so you can calculate what you need to get on the final.

3. Using finals calculator way too much

You want to know exactly what you need on each final. You know some of your grades won't change and some are really borderline, so you need to see which finals you should study the most for and which ones aren't that important.

4. Wondering if it's acceptable to sleep in the library

After spending way too many hours a day in the library, you really contemplate if taking a nap is acceptable. I mean you know you'll end up on some strangers snapchat stories, but that's not the end of the world right?

5. Consuming way too much caffeine

You consume more caffeine than any other week of the year. You rotate between coffee, tea, and soda. You aren't getting sleep and you need to keep fueling your body to keep studying, long after you want to.

6. Day dreaming about Christmas break

You find yourself dreaming about Christmas break. You know a warm bed and lit fireplace is waiting for you at home, and you are stuck inside studying your butt off. The promise of home cooked meals and everything Christmas keeps you motivated to get through all your finals.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
