12 Thoughts Every Girl Has While Packing For A Trip

Packing can be frustrating, to say the least. One minute you think you have everything under control but before you know it you're either guiltily indulging in Netflix or curled up in the fetal position next to your suitcase.

Whether you're someone who religiously follows lists and plans ahead or someone who frantically packs at the last second, most girls can probably attest that they have been guilty of some (if not all) of these thoughts while packing for a trip:

1. "I'm a really fast and organized packer. Seriously, there's nothing to worry about here."

*Tries to remain calm as the days continue to pass by*

2. "Should I pack workout clothes or will I really be working out on my trip?"

You thought you were waking up extra early to run on the beach every morning but, let's face it, it's a vacation.

3. "Why do I feel the need to pack multiple pairs of sandals, wedges, flip flops, running shoes, and converse? I'm only packing for one week."

Yes, I know I have a problem.

4. "I'm dying to pack that super cute bikini I just got, but it's a family trip so I guess that's a no go?"

This is probably a sign that I should not have bought this swimsuit in the first place.

5. "How many pairs of socks are considered too many???"

I ask myself this question literally every time I pack and I still don't have an answer.

6. "As long as I have my toothbrush and deodorant that's all I really need," I say as I fill my cosmetic bag with unnecessary amounts of makeup.

I don't know! What if I get a pimple?

7. *Packs a box or two of Tampax because sometimes you just never know*

Being a girl is all fun and games until mother nature decides to ruin your week.

8. "Oh my god, I forgot to do my laundry and I'm out of time. Do you think anyone will notice if these jeans are dirty?"

I promise you that if it isn't stained or smelly, no one will notice. Don't lie to yourself, some of you are definitely guilty of this.

9. "Supposedly, it gets pretty cold at night so my mom told me to pack a pair of long pants and a sweater, just in case."

*Throws in multiple pairs of jeans, some sweatpants, two sweatshirts and about three cardigans* The weather can be too unpredictable! I'm not playing any games.

10. "Should I just bring two suitcases at this point?"

No. You. Can. Do. This.

11. "DON'T. FORGET. YOUR CHARGER. That would be a nightmare."

I wish I didn't depend on my phone as much as I do, but how else will I be able to post pictures and let everyone know where I am???

12. That feeling you get when you finally zip up your suitcase and everything just barely fits. "At least it zippered."

Somehow, the job always gets done, whether it's a week before your trip, the night before your trip, or an hour before you hit the road or leave for the airport. You know what they say, there are three types of people in this world. I may or may not be one of the last two.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
