Retail is the kind of job nearly everyone works at least once in their life, and so everyone can agree that it's one of the worst things out there. Customers are rude, messy, and outright strange. Managers keep piling on more and more work, and standing on your feet for 8 hours is literally torture. However, the absolute worst thing about it is that no matter how terrible it gets, you're expected to remain calm, if not, outright happy through all of it so the only safe place to vent is in your own head. 1. "How hard is it to read the expiration date on your coupons? If getting two dollars off is that important to you why can't you at least just read the actual paper?"

2. "No, I don't care how your day is going, but ringing you up in silence is awkward, so I'll play along."

3. "I already know we don't have this in the back, but don't worry, I'll pretend to go check anyway."

4. "How much longer until my break?"

5. "Fine, I'll get you a manager if you want, but they're just gonna say the same thing as me."

6. "Go ahead, mess up my display one more time. I dare you."

7. "The price tag is already on it, why do I need to run a price check for you? It's right there."

8. 'What if I just called out tomorrow? Had some me time? I deserve it."

9. "I'm five seconds away from quitting."

10. "Oh great, three more people walked in just as we were about close. Wonderful."
