Thanksgiving is over, the holiday season has begun, yet every college student goes back to school for what seems like the longest most grueling three weeks of their college careers. Here are some thoughts that go through every college students minds for the weeks between Thanksgiving break and winter break.

1. Is this semester over yet?

One of the main things you can always catch me thinking of is wondering if this semester will ever be done. It seems like the work of 4 months was piled into the last 3 weeks of the semester and everyone, including professors, are panicking. Students are working, professors are grading, and if you're like me, you want to know your grade before you go into the final so that way you know the absolute lowest grade you need to pass that class.

2. There are only 3 weeks of the first semester left: gotta make the most of it.

There's two types of students during college: the study-ers and the partiers. The rare breed is those who learned how to master both but let's be honest, those are few and far between. It is very clear during the last few weeks of the semester and especially during finals week what type of student each person is.

While I'll be in the library drowning in essays in exams, I'll be viewing the snapchats of some of my friends wondering how they're drunk in a bar at 3 a.m. with a final the next day. But hey, whatever works.

3. I can't wait to not have to do school for a month.

I would rather work every single day for 13 hour work days during my winter break than have to worry about quizzes and exams for a month. Enough said.

4. Watching one more episode on Netflix won't kill me... right?

When it comes to studying in your room, it is so easy to just lay back and open a new tab on your laptop or close your book to watch just one more episode on Netflix of that show you've been watching.

Cost-benefit analysis? Yes watching that one episode will probably hurt you in the end because one episode turns to 7 then its 3 a.m. and you're wondering where the time went and panicking. We've all been there.

5. Why do professors forget we have other classes?

In the last 3 weeks of the semester, I have a final in every class accompanied by a paper, minimum 10 pages each. Why does it seem like professors act as if we are only in their class? The world may never know.

As the first semester comes to a close, no matter what year you are, you are probably wondering how four months of your life went by so fast. The best advice I can give is to grab that cup of coffee (or alcoholic beverage) you need to continue the grind and just keep going because we are all almost at the finish line.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
