25 Thoughts You Have While Doing Your Homework

Doing homework or studying is no one's favorite task, but unfortunately we all have to do it and a lot of it. I talk to myself quite often, sometimes giving myself motivation to keep going as odd as that may sound. Here are 25 thoughts that go through my head while powering through the agony.

  1. How many more pages do I have to read?
  2. Oh my goodness, this is SO boring.
  3. Ooh, I should check Instagram.
  4. Okay, Emily Grace, focus!
  5. This is torture.
  6. When will I ever need to know this in real life?
  7. How is this going to help me with my major?
  8. Fight it, fight it, don't check your phone.
  9. Oh got a text! Who's it from?
  10. O-M-G I want to do anything but this right now.
  11. I wonder if I could just skim it and be okay for class.
  12. Check Facebook.
  13. I wonder how many days until formal? I'll count.
  14. I wonder how many days until Monon?
  15. I wonder how many days until Thanksgiving.
  16. OMG can't wait to feast at Thanksgiving!
  17. Aw, I'll get to see my friends.
  18. I miss them now. I'll text them!
  19. Okay, Emily, read this for like ten more minutes then it'll be over.
  20. FOCUS. Hide your phone from yourself.
  21. Where did I even stop reading?
  22. Who cares, just start with that small paragraph.
  23. OMG this is still SO boring.
  24. Yay! Yay! Woot Woot! One more page!
  25. Thank the Lord that is finally over.

When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
