Working in customer service, whether it is waiting tables, retail, or any other type of service environment is most often times a really fun and rewarding job. However, there are also times when you want to bang your head against a wall or you just have to stare blankly ask yourself "did they really just say that?". We deal with everything from fitting room disasters to absurd questions and a mess of other things in between. The following is a list of what goes on inside the mind of anyone who has ever worked in customer service. I’ve been working both in retail and waiting tables all summer and I’m sure anyone would agree with me; it’s not always the most glorious of jobs.
When you have an early morning shift
When people are severely testing your patience...
If I had a dollar for every time I hear “In the bag is fine”
My face when someone gets mad at me because we don’t keep coupons in the store...

When you just finished organizing a table and someone walks over and destroys it...
Me: “Would you like your receipt with you or in the bag?

When you greet someone happily and they ignore you and/or scowl at you...
When you hear a song from the looped playlist outside of work
When a customer compliments you:
Those good days when you get put in the same debt as your work friends:
When you're scheduled to clock out in 3 minutes and someone comes up to the register with a monstrous amount of items and a return without a receipt....
When you get to go home at the end of the day:
