Walking to class is one of the most peaceful times during our stress-filled day. So much peace can often cause many random thoughts to pop into our heads during our dreaded 15 minute trudge to class. Those 10-15 minutes you spend walking from place to place are perfect for planning your day, or dissolving into existential crises. As you are walking across campus, these many thoughts probably cross your mind:

1. I'm so tired. It's too early for this. I want my bed.

I can't function this early in the morning. HOW did I manage to wake up for high school every morning?!?

2. Okay but HOW is that guy wearing shorts?! It literally feels like -2°F right now.

What are you doing?!?! PUT A COAT ON!!!

3. Is it Friday yet?

How is it only Monday?

4. Why are these people walking so SLOW!!!

WALK FASTER!!!!

5. WOAH! That bicyclist almost KILLED ME!!!

That was a close one.

6. But if he killed me, I wouldn't have to pay my student loans.

I'd rather be hit by a bicyclist than pay student loans tbh.

7. Should I skip class?

What's the attendance policy?

8. It better not rain...

I DIDN'T BRING MY UMBRELLA BECAUSE THE WEATHER APP SAID IT WOULDN'T RAIN. SO WHY DOES IT LOOK LIKE IT'S ABOUT TO BE A TROPICAL STORM OUTSIDE?!

9. Why is this class so far away? It feels like I've been walking for 5 years.

We should really have segways.

10. Did I have homework for this class?

*Checks Canvas to see that, yes, I did indeed have homework for this class* Whoopsies.

11. Should I change my major?

NO! NO I SHOULD NOT CHANGE MY MAJOR FOR THE 5TH TIME.

12. What am I going to do after graduation?

*heavy breathing*

13. All this walking counts as my exercise, right?

Walking up and down the stairs should take care of my cardio for the week.

14. Is it too late to drop the class?

My motivation to finish the class is slowly dropping, just like the leaves, the temperature and my GPA.

15. Is it winter break yet?

ONE MORE WEEK!!!!!

16. SO. MANY. PEOPLE.

Nothing is more stressful than walking on the sidewalk when classes just ended.

17. Girl why are you wearing a dress and heels to class?

Here I am with my unbrushed hair, leggings, Uggs and oversized sweatshirt looking like a hobo.

18. Campus looks so beautiful today!

Robert Frost wasn't kidding when he said that Miami is most beautiful campus that ever was.

19. DOG!!! Okay, resist the urge to pet that adorably cute 4 Paws dog.

Thank gosh for 4 Paws for Ability because I get to see the cutest puppies being absolutely adorable walking around campus.

These are just a few of the many things that go through my mind while I'm walking across campus. Hopefully, this makes you feel a little less crazy during your trek to class, because let's be honest, we all think these things and more.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
