It is Winter. Which means it is also Cold & Flu Season. No matter how many times you scrub your hands with hot water and soap, no matter how many times you sanitize, if you attend college you’re probably going to get sick. What do you do if you get sick? There’s so many decision you have to make and if you’re sick you’re not really in the mood to make those choices.

I have a fever… do I skip class because I’m physically sick? Or should I skip this class when my mind just can’t take it anymore?

PSA: If you’re physically sick (fever, nausea, vomiting, running nose, sore throat, etc.) stay home. Don’t get your classmates sick.

I need a nap.

Always take naps, even if you aren’t sick.

That’s it, I have the Black Plague.

Even though I’ve avoided every possible way to get sick, I’ve gotten sick. And now… it is time to die.

Did I just take NyQuil during the day?

Please don’t do this. Keep you’re DayQuil and NyQuil separate people!

Where are my tissues?

How do I keep losing these things?

Do I even have any tissues?

I never do.

How did I even get sick?

I open doors with my elbows.

I swear I’ve been washing my hands.

With hot water and everything!

I can’t breathe

The medicine doesn’t always help.

I remember that one day, last week, when I could breathe from both nostrils… boy did I take that for granted.

I just can’t wait to breathe again. I hate mouth breathing.

Should I go to Health Services?

The answer is yes.

But it’s too far away.

Waaaay too far.

Also the wait is too long.

Waaaay too long.

Nah, I’ll be fine.

You will, in fact, not be fine.

Is this what a zombie feels like?

Because I hate zombies... but if this is how they feel, maybe we have more in common than I thought.

Remember when I wasn’t in college?

Life just seems so much harder now.

I’m just gonna cry right here

Oh, you mean I’m in the middle of the cafeteria? Oh well, I’ve chosen to cry here.

I need a hug.

Don’t we all want to be held when we are sick. But I don’t wanna get anyone else sick, but I need to be held.

Praise the sweet Lord, I can breathe again!

Seriously, if you’re sick please go to Health Service on campus. Make an appointment online and then go! Don’t spread your germs. Remember to get lots of sleep and drink lots of fluids. If you’re vomiting or have a fever drink extra fluids to makeup for all that is lost!

Be safe everyone!

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
