JoJo Fletcher’s season of "The Bachelorette" was one hell of a ride. From firemen and real estate agents to erectile dysfunction specialists and hipsters, JoJo had quite an interesting bunch of men to choose from. After a lot of crying and delayed rose ceremonies (which no season is complete without), she was able to narrow it down to two men.
Robby Hayes and Jordan Rodgers were the chosen ones in the end. Unfortunately, only one could have JoJo’s heart. After tough conversations and meeting JoJo’s family, Jordan Rodgers was the lucky man who prevailed.
The big question haunting Bachelor nation after this season’s finale is: Did JoJo make the right decision? Rumors of Jordan (and other men) being on the show for the wrong reasons sprung up throughout the season and continue to be discussed after the conclusion.
I, for one, think she made a monumental mistake when she sent Luke Pell home. I mean, come on! Luke and JoJo had that Ben and Lauren spark. They had that seemingly perfect relationship from the moment they first met. In the beginning, he rode in on a horse dressed as a unicorn for goodness sake!
My thoughts on Luke aside, I’ll respond to the previous question about her decision with another question: can anyone truly answer that besides her? Probably not. Although I, and most likely many others, believed Luke was going to be and should have been the one to end up with JoJo, it’s only important that she believes she made the right decision. It’s reality TV, but the decision she made affects her real life after the show.
JoJo’s opinion is the most significant, but public opinion can take a toll on relationships. Less than supportive accusations can stir up doubts. There was a major difference in reactions from the public on Ben and Lauren’s engagement versus JoJo and Jordan’s. Generally, Ben and Lauren received more support from the public than JoJo and Jordan did.
After seeing the support Ben and Lauren got, it had to have been hard for JoJo and Jordan to not receive the same reaction. With millions of people questioning their relationship, how could it not be? Fortunately, JoJo and Jordan are surviving the storm of preconceived notions and accusations surrounding their relationship; It’s only making them stronger.
Aside from the main event of the night, the question everyone should be asking is: who was mentioned more in this season’s finale, Ben Higgins or Aaron Rodgers?
