To Those Who Have Reasons For Not Pursuing What They Want To Do

Reasons, obstacles, or imaginary excuses? Don't stop yourself from going after your dreams

To Those Who Have Reasons For Not Pursuing What They Want To Do

There are many different types of people out in the world with different goals and dreams. There are those that plan their whole life ahead to pursue those dreams, then there are those that goes with the flow. There is also those that goes with the flow, but never fully pursues them because of certain "reasons," but are these reasons actually reasonable in not going after them?

1. The people around you tell you that they can "see you in doing something else."

When you share what you want to do with your family, friends, or acquaintances, you are told that he/she can see you do pursue something else. Or if you tell them that you want to get into a new hobby, you are told that you don't seem like the type to do whatever you want to do. Do not let what others think what you "should do" or "look like you would do" stop you from doing what you want to do. If you want to go for it, then be the best at it. There is no need to prove to others that you're fit to do what you wanted to do, but instead prove to yourself that you will not let what others think of you stop you from what you believe is at your best interest.

2. What you want to do is so "basic" or "original."

Someone tells you that what you are doing is something that everyone else does. So what? There is a reason that everyone else wants to do it. Whose to say that the reason you want to is the same as theirs? Even if it is, why does it matter? Go for what makes you think makes you happy; forget the norms and what seems so "basic."

3. Someone else did want you wanted to do, and they tell you their experience.

Maybe someone did what you wanted to do already, and they tell you their experience was not that great. Every person has their own opinion and their own levels of satisfaction. What satisfies them may be different from you, and vice versa. Do not let anyone else's experience stop you from doing what you want to do.

4. The money situation

Maybe your dream is to travel the world and learn more about what is outside your world. Maybe what's stopping you is the financial aspect of pursuing this goal. Even so, you have a whole life ahead from you. Don't let this obstacle stop you from traveling to at least a few places. You have a lot of time to plan things and save up money. If you really want to do something, you can always manage to find a way to do it, even if it means sacrifices. In the end, you will feel like it is worth it.

5. Lack of company

You have a whole list of things you want to do, but you do not want to do it alone. You want to do it with someone, perhaps a significant person, like a lover or a good friend. It's always good to share good memories, especially the ones you've been dreaming up for a while. However, do not let that stop you from doing it when you don't have someone to do it. Remember that you can make the experience the best it can be, as long as you set your mind to it. If want you want to do makes you happy, regardless of whoever is there with you, you will still be glad that you did it. For those waiting for a lover to do these things with, remember to love yourself first. Do not wait around for someone else to do the things that you want to do. Go treat yourself and do the things you want to do yourself first. You deserve it!

6. More confidence

You need more confidence in pursuing all that you want to do. You're motivated, but there is something holding you back. You're doubting your ability to what you want to do. You think you won't be able to pursue your dreams. Drive those thoughts away. If you want to pursue a career you think you won't be able to do, use that doubt to prove to yourself that you can do it. Lose the people that make you feel insecure about what you want to do. Whatever it is that you want to do, believe in yourself, even when it is hard. It's always hard to initiate in doing something, but once you start believing in yourself, you'll find a drive of motivation to continue to do what you want to do.

As cliche as it is, you only live once. You don't have the time to let any reason to stop you from doing the things you want to do, and lastly, you don't have the time to stop yourself from being amazing and doing the great things you can pursue.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
