It's finally spring break. This semester is seriously flying, and I need this week more than I need to find a full-time job in two months.
Spring break for some people is the perfect time to drink a whole lot with your friends. The perfect time to lay on a beach somewhere. The perfect time to travel. The perfect time to relax.
But for other people, spring break is the perfect time to get those extra work hours in. The perfect time to play catch up or get ahead in your classes.
All those things are great. They're really good ideas. I'm glad I came up with them for you.
Now, what I'm about to say only applies to the second half of that list.
Don't do any of that.
Okay, now, what I'm going to say applies to the last thing on first half of that list.
DO THIS!
Spring break is meant for us to RELAX. We all need it.
Especially all my fellow seniors out there. This is our last college break. We need to enjoy this. We need this.
I mean, sure, I've had my share of nights out both during the week and on the weekend. However, they always manage to be followed by going to work painfully hungover or having to spend the day doing everything you need to for the week ahead.
I totally get that not everyone can afford a vacation or a week off of work. But you can 100% afford to just relax.
You can afford to spend all your time in bed binge-watching that Netflix show you've been dying to watch all semester. You can afford to hang out with all your other friends who are off this week.
You can afford this break.
In seven days, you have to go back full swing.
So why not enjoy these next seven days? Don't go on Canvas or Blackboard. Don't open a textbook. Don't do any of it.
Trust me, you'll feel a whole lot better if you go back to school next week completely refreshed from the pure relaxation you endured for the last seven days.
Do what makes you happy. Go fishing. Read a book. Watch a movie you've been dying to see. Catch up on the current season of your favorite show.
No matter what it is, you'll be happy you did it.
Because when it's all said and done, you'll realize you did need it. You'll see how much happier you are.
Trust me. I promise.
Just thank me later.
