Have you ever had a certain meal or dessert that you've hidden in the kitchen and saved to eat the next day? The following morning you wake up and the first thing on your mind is that little item you saved somewhere in the dark corners of the cabinets, pantry or fridge, away from the eyes of predators. You either leave the house for a bit or you stay up in your room, waiting for the right time to eat your hidden treat. What happens when you go back to the hidden place and it's not there? How would you feel? A 31 year-old Floridian man reacted in a way that you probably would want to (but hopefully don't).
On December 14th, Port St. Lucie police received a domestic disturbance call and arrived just in time to see the suspect trying to flee from the scene in his Lexus.
Richard Hessic was upset after he found out that someone had eaten his last chocolate chip cookie - his favorite type of cookies. When he confronted his girlfriend of three years, (even while she was in the shower), about the "situation," she "[blew] him off so he tore the shower curtain down while the couple continued to argue." Hessic's girlfriend joked about his confrontation, saying that they could "[review] the surveillance cameras to see who ate the cookie." Hessic didn't take the joke too lightly and landed a punch on the left side of her face, according to nydailynews.com. He was charged with domestic battery and placed on "house arrest with GPS monitoring" and was told to not have any contact with his girlfriend.
This wasn't Hessic's first encounter with the police. In the past, Hessic's been arrested for "battery, fleeing, eluding, child abuse, driving with a suspended or revoked license and violating probation."
Hessic had a hearing on January 5th.
If more information surfaces, I will let you all know.
