You Can't Say You're Bored Until You've Done These 30 Things
Alexandre Vanier

In the tumultuous and stressful life of a college student, there are not many times when boredom strikes. However, if the opportunity becomes available and a class is canceled or you feel like having a Friday night in, here are some things that I love to do when I’m bored.

1. Watch "Gilmore Girls."

2. Call my family and check up on what’s going on at home.

3. Facetime my dog.

4. Text or call my best friend from home and see how she is doing.

5. Water my plants.

6. Buy new plants.

7. Name my new plants.

8. Clean up my dorm! (vacuum, dust, etc.)

9. Look at all of the Snapchat filters for that day.

10. Look up baby animals on the internet.

11. Go to Target because there’s always something to buy there.

12. Write an Odyssey article!

13. Check my emails and delete all of them.

14. Drink coffee.

15. Drink more coffee.

16. Eat Reese’s peanut butter cups.

17. Look at videos of my baby cousin and laugh with glee at his cuteness.

18. Scroll through Instagram and see how boring my life is compared to everyone who is studying abroad.

19. Take selfies.

20. Listen to Ed Sheeran on repeat and pretend that he’s singing to me.

21. Listen to Taylor Swift’s new singles and wish that I was her.

22. Do my makeup and try to perfect my winged eyeliner.

23. Look at childhood pictures and reminisce about the good (and some bad) old days.

24. Online shop for things that I definitely can’t afford.

25. Cry a single tear after thinking about all the years of school I have left (It’s about 6 and a half years, but who’s counting?)

26. Watch Disney movies on repeat.

27. Write a Christmas list and send it to my mother.

28. Think of witty Instagram captions that I’ll never use.

29. Try to go to the gym, but actually, go to the dining hall because it’s closer and so much better than physical exercise

30. Nap for three hours when I only intended on sleeping for 30 minutes.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
