Yes, you read that right. I think it is nonsense to make New Years Resolutions.
First of all, the fact that it is a new year won't make any difference. It is just another day on the calendar. There is nothing magical about it that will suddenly make you change. To make a change, you have to want to change.
I don't believe the notion of "new year, new me." The date has nothing to do with the type of person you are or who you want to be. You don't need fireworks, sparklers, confetti, or champagne to initiate change.
If you did want to change, you could do it now. Why wait? Why wait to become a better person? If you want to go on a diet or become more adventurous, start now. I have learned that if you are willing to put something like that off until a later day, you will keep putting it off. Don't wait until January 1st to do something that you want to do, and don't think that you need to wait.
Also, with that being said, if it's post-New Years, you can still change. There is nothing that says you have to change only on January 1st.
Just go ahead and ask that girl out. Start that diet that you have been looking at on Pinterest. Start doing the things you want to do and stop worrying about a "resolution." Climb that mountain.
