I'm one of these people that isn't great at expressing my emotions. This also means I'm great at handling other people's emotions. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it can create some incredibly awkward situations. Here are things you can understand if you're not a sappy person.

1. You would never tag your best friend or boyfriend in cutesy things on the internet

Something about tagging you in this open letter just feels...weird.

2. You never know how to sign birthday/going away/congrats cards.

Everyone usually writes paragraphs. I usually stick to "happy bday."

3. Sometimes you can't tell if you're being overly honest.

I don't mean to be blunt. Call it word vomit, but I can't help it.

4. Pet names kinda freak you out.

If you call me honey, I might cringe.

5. When you see a friend for the first time in a while (such as after summer break) you avoid the screaming and hugging.

I'll turn around and walk the other direction. Don't do it.

6. PDA isn't really your thing.

Call me old fashioned...but we can do that at home.

7. You never know what to do with a friend who's crying...especially if they're drunk.

It's incredibly awkward.

8. Serious situations are usually accompanied by jokes.

9. You understand that every romantic comedy is the same.

And awful. They're all just awful

10. You never know what to do with a compliment.

Not because you don't know how to accept them, but because you know you're supposed to say something nice back.

11. Your friends don't go to you for dating advice, because they know you won't tell them what they want to hear.

He sucks. Done and done.

12. People often assume you're a bitch.

I'm kind of an acquired taste.

13. But no matter what, you know you'll always be loyal to your friends and tell them the truth.

Sorry not sorry.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
