Being 19 is like being a sophomore in high school.. you are no longer a freshmen but neither a senior.

You're halfway there and considered a legal adult but there are still some things you can't do such as clubbing, drinking, renting a car etc. You are on the edge of being 21 years old and anticipating for that day where the world is yours.

However before you turn 21, YOU NEED TO TURN 20!

Say goodbye to 10's and HELLO 20's!So if you are turning 20 anytime soon like I am, here are 19 things I learned in my lifespan and would tell any 19 year old out there.

1. You are always going to be seen as a child in your parent's eyes.

2. You going to have a toy or blanket that reminds you of your childhood.

3. There is always going to be place for you with open arms. No place like home.

4. Tensions and arguments can rise among family members, but at the end of the day they love you.

5. Have a group of people who support you and your aspirations is the best thing to have.

6. Don't give up on a goal you have despite the obstacles thrown at you.

7. Having a few friends who are loyal and respectful is better than having many.

8. You don't know what you have until it's lost (learn to be grateful)

9. People come in and out of your life to teach a lesson.

10. Be willing to overcome when tragedies and death occur.

11. Everything happens for a reason in life and things may not go planned accordingly.

12. It's okay to mistakes, there is time to repent.

13. Try to let go of the past and just focus in the present.

14. Conquer the fears you have.

15. Relationships blossom with time, love, and respect.

16. Trust is earned, not given.

17. Do something that you are passionate about.

18. Give back to those in the community and those who supported you.

19. Explore. Innovate. Create. Be Safe.

Hope this advice helps and congrats on those who are 20 or soon turning 20! Cheers to a new era in your life.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
