Social media is platform that dominates many of our lives. It is the way we send out, and receive information. While I personally believe, this can be helpful and a great use of our current technology I also think that we have gotten very lazy due to social media. I, for one, am so guilty of just sharing a video when I could very easily do so much more. Here are 10 ways to make this world a little better that isn’t just sharing a video on Facebook

1. Volunteer locally:

Walk dogs at local shelter. Read or hang out with the elderly at a retirement home. Tutor kids. Give your time to a local organization and make a change to your community.

2. Do a Canned Food, School Supply, or Clothing Drive:

Set up a canned food drive in your neighborhood and donate the proceeds to your local homeless shelter. Do a clothing drive at your local school or university and donate the proceeds to a woman’s shelter. Donate schools supplies to low-income schools.

3. Put Down Your Phone:

OK level with me on this one. Put your phone down and smile at someone you walk past. Hold the door open for someone. Help a person who is struggling to carry something. Just be kind to those around you!

4. Help a Homeless Person:

I don’t recommend giving out money directly but buy them a meal or give them a coat or shoes. Even a blanket would be greatly appreciated.

5. Donate Money to a Charity:

This can be done locally or even globally which is awesome. Before you donate make sure you check to see if the charity is credible and doing what they say they will do with your money.

6. Donate to a Go Fund Me:

It can be someone you know or even someone you don’t.

7. Buy a Product that Donates their Proceeds to a Good Cause

My personal favorite is theelephantpants.com that donates their proceeds to elephant conservation.

8. Educate People on Conservation Efforts:

Information can go a long way. Keep those around you informed on what is going on in our world.

9. Educate People on Conservation Efforts:

Information can go a long way. Keep those around you informed on what is going on in our world.

10. Reach Out to A Friend in Need:

Even sitting and talking to someone going through a rough time can be helpful. You may not be saving the world but you are impacting someone’s life in a way you don’t even know.

I Hope these tips help you go out and make a difference. Whether you donate your time or your money just know you are doing great things. This not only benefits the world but also your personal mental health and well-being. Stay kind out there ya’ll!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
