"Wish you could go back and tell yourself what you know now."

17 Things I Would Tell My Freshman Self

Ah, freshman year. The mistakes I made were endless, and the memories were priceless. There are just a few things I wish I had known.

Enjoy the dorm life while you have it

Yes, it may not be the nicest living arrangement you’ve ever been in, but it’s the closest you’ll ever live to all your friends at one time again, so enjoy it while it last.

Red lipstick

Buy some — it will make you look like a million bucks when you feel like none.

People change

Sometimes, your friends that were your friends the first day, won't be your friends forever

Go to class

Either you’re paying for school or someone you love is, don’t make it a waste of money. Go. Pass. Succeed.

A jar of icing

Keep it in your dorm, its the trick to fix any bad day.

Don’t worry about a boyfriend

Boys your age don’t want the same thing you want anyway.

Use the meal plan

Don’t eat out so much, you’re going to wish you had it next year.

Wash your face every night

Clear skin. Full hearts. Can’t lose.

Buy a planner

Because chances are, when you think you’re not busy, you’ve forgotten you’ve got something you need to be doing.

Snapchat

Should be used for double chins to your best friends, and a cliché picture of your coffee.

Change your major

If you hate it, and if you hate the new one, change it again. It’s better to change it 500 times then be stuck doing what you hate.

Pictures

There’s no such thing as too many of them.

FOMO

It may feel real, but it’s not worth failing a class just to go out at night.

Stay in touch with your high school friends

Who else are you going to hang out with over the holidays?

Call your mom

And your Dad, your brother, your sister and your grandparents. They all miss you and want to know what’s going on with your life.

Be kind to all

Do wrong to none.

Enjoy it all

It goes by way too fast

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
