Spend some money on yourself
Start writing a post

Everybody spends money on things that they don't necessarily need. It's easy to get caught up in phases and in brand names and want to purchase items that might not necessarily be something that you have to spend money on. The flip side to that is that in that moment, it's something that you really like and really want - and that's okay! But the next time you're thinking you want to spend money on something, here are the things to splurge a little bit on.

1. Skin Products

I was always the person who bought whatever seemed good from the drug store and never really thought twice about what was actually going on my skin. This was something that you should definitely spend a little bit more time researching and should be okay spending a little bit more money on. Your skin deserves the best - give it the best!

2. Hair Products

Okay, so this goes hand-in-hand with your skin products, but it's so true.If you want to have healthy hair, make sure you're washing it with the correct type of ingredients that will nourish it. It's easy to grab a volumizing shampoo from a convenience store, but making sure it's a well-made product that has ingredients to actually help your hair is more important. It's okay to splurge a little to make sure you're taking care of yourself.

3. Experiences

Yes, taking care of yourself and what products you're using is all great but this is something that you should always splurge on. Experiences teach you so much about life and about yourself that if it comes down to either going on a trip or getting to try something new, you should definitely do it! Splurge a little to make sure you're learning and growing as a person.

4. Your Food

$5 for pizza is great, don't get me wrong, but if spending $9 is going to get you just a little bit healthier of a meal, you should do it! Don't forget that a lot of your energy and mental state is affected by the nutrients you are putting into your body. Am I going to tell you not to eat that brownie? Hell no. You should! But don't forget to splurge a little when it comes to making sure you're getting good food in you. It's definitely worth it.

5. Your Well-Being

Invest in yourself. This could mean going to a therapist, getting your nails done, joining an activity, picking up a new hobby, going back to school, or simply just buying a top that makes you feel good about yourself. Always invest in yourself and make sure that you're taking care of yourself. Yes, sometimes you feel like there are other things that your money could be better spent on, but you need to always make sure that at the end of the day, you're happy.

It's so easy to get caught up in purchasing useless items that don't necessarily do anything for you. It's easy to purchase the cheap thing to save money and you'll always be able to make an excuse for that. I promise you that investing in these few things and splurging a little bit in these areas are totally worth it.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
