Everyone enjoys being happy and has a common goal to keep that happiness. But there are certain factors holding us back from reaching what true happiness can really be. We put limitations on ourselves everyday but we have the opportunity to release those certain limitations and learn how to embrace life. Let's look at some of the walls we can break down in order to open more doors to a better life

1. Trying to please everyone

At the end of the day, not everyone will like you, but it's not your job to please everyone. Instead worrying how others feel the majority of the time, remember to be yourself and control what you can control. Not the opinion of others.

2. Let go of perfectionism

No one is perfect and no one is meant to be. In life we must fail and fall down in order to work harder, become better people and learn from our mistakes. Although perfection will never be in our reach, that doesn't mean we shouldn't still give effort. If we were all perfect, what would we learn from life?

3. Let go of negative people

Friendships and relationships can be toxic. Look at the friends you spend time with. How do they treat you? Do they encourage you? Do they bring out the best in you? Be wise in the friendships you choose. Who you surround yourself with is who you become. It may be hard to let go of negative friends that you've known for so long, but it will make you happier.

4. Let go of being bitter

Believe it or not, we sometimes like to be bitter. There's a sense of empowerment knowing that someone else messed up and that you can hold it against them. But at the end of the day being bitter towards someone or holding a grudge isn't hurting that person, it's hurting you.

5. Let go of comparison

Comparison is the thief of joy. Spending every second of every day wanting to be someone else doesn't give you the opportunity to understand how unique you are. There is only one you with your traits and characteristics. Be proud of that and embrace it. You'll never learn how to if you are trying to fit in the shoes of someone else.

6. Let go of the past and the future

We've all made mistakes, some we wish that we could go back in time to change. But the past is in the past and can now be used as a way to grow and know that you can learn from it so you can make smarter decisions next time. Thinking about the future is exciting but it can also become consuming. Learn how to live in the moment and enjoy what you have and the people in your life.

7. Control

There are certain aspects of life that will be out of our control, and there is nothing we can do about it. The want for too much control shows the lack of faith and trust you have. Be hopeful and know that you can find happiness right where you are.

8. Fear of failure

Failure is inevitable. We will be rejected and hurt, but that rejection can lead us from something that we thought was good to something great. Failure is needed to not only break us, but to shape us too. Know that when you've fallen down, it doesn't mean you can't get back up. Setbacks are often times used for setups.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
