It's summer, which means it's the perfect time to go on road trips! Road trips are so much fun, but the car rides can definitely seem like they're never going to end. Here are some things you can do to make the time go by a little faster!
1. Read a book!
So many people say that they love to read, but they "never have time to anymore." If you're looking for an excuse to treat yourself and some friends on a road trip, having time to read on the drive should definitely be on the list!
2. Discover new music
You know when that new album comes out and you've heard most of the songs, but not all of them that are on it yet? Listening to an album can make a car ride seem a lot shorter, especially if it's songs you've never listened to. Or if you've been wanting to listen to this one artist but haven't yet, a road trip is the perfect time to.
3. Listen to old music
Discovering new music is always great, but who doesn't like listening to the music you've always loved throughout the years?
4. Make bracelets
It's actually pretty easy: bring a clipboard or a cookie tray or basically anything you can tape something to. Tape the top of the strings to the tray, and then you're good to go!
5. Sleep!
If you need to catch up on your sleep, this is definitely the time to. The driver will probably need to switch off with someone so they can nap, so you might as well rest up before it's your turn to drive.
6. Play a game
I promise there's more games you can play in a car than 'eye spy.' Ever heard of the game 'fuck marry kill?' It never disappoints.
7. One word: audiobook
8. Look up cool places to stop that are on the way
Depending on where you're going, you're probably going to have to make some rest stops. You might as well make those stops at cool places that are on the way to your final destination.
9. Watch a movie
Another way to effectively make the time pass.
10. Look out for funny license plates
You'd be surprised by how many funny license plates there are out there if you look out for them.
11. Catch up with someone you've been meaning to
Have you been meaning to catch up with a friend or a family member, but haven't had a chance to because of work, school, etc.? Planning to when you're on the road could be a perfect time to (as long as the driver doesn't mind).
Those are just a handful of the things that you can do on a long car ride! Happy road tripping!
