10 Things To Do During The Halloween Season

The days of trick-or-treating for most, if not all, of us are over, but that isn't to say that we have altogether abandoned the celebration of Halloween. There are so many other fun ways in which we can get into the spooky season spirit. Here is a list of just some of the things you can do to enjoy the Halloween season.

1. Decorate

Make a day out of it and take the time to buy and use some of your favorite decorations and props to make the haunted house of your dreams.

2. Have a scary movie marathon

There's no better way to get into the Halloween mood than watching scary movies. It's the name of the game. Grab your favorite snacks and get to watching!

3. Binge-watch your favorite Disney Halloween movies

What's Halloween without a classic Disney Halloween movie? There are so many good ones to choose from like Hocus Pocus, Twitches, Under Wraps, Halloweentown (and every installment in the series), and so much more. Also, if you're not quite a fan of horror movies, these are the perfect ones to give you just the right amount of scare and fun.

4. Visit a haunted house

If you're feeling adventurous and daring, pay a visit to a haunted house attraction. If you're really up for the scare, go alone, but it's always funnier to go with friends. You'll be sure to scream your faces off while hopefully also having some fun.

5. Take a trip to the amusement park

When Halloween meets amusement parks, the outcome is pure thrilling fun, unless you're not into that kind of thing. There are many amusement parks like Six flags and Universal Studios that become Halloween-themed during the season and really go all out. They sure provide an experience like no other.

6. Bake

You can never go wrong with baking some Halloween goodies such as ghost cookies and orange cupcakes. With baking, there is always room for creativity and finding new ways to make treats look festive.

7. Go pumpkin picking

As a traditional practice of Halloween, pumpkin picking is a whole lot fun. Grab a friend or two and design the pumpkins you pick out as well.

8. Go to a Halloween-themed party

Just because you might not go trick-or-treating anymore doesn't mean you can't dress up. There are many Halloween-themed parties that are hosted to which everyone is invited. You may be required to wear a costume of a certain theme or you can totally pick out your own. Either way, a Halloween party is a great way to dress up, meet new people and have fun.

9. Go all out at the costume store

Going to a costume store, whether you're looking for one or not, can be an adventure. Take some friends and try on some funny costumes.

10. Get a pumpkin spice latte at Starbucks

There's no other way to get the taste of fall than by ordering a pumpkin spiced latte. It's a staple of the season.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
