As Thanksgiving just recently passed, I began to reflect on the things that I was thankful for. As juvenile an activity as this may appear to me, I find it important to document in writing, the things that I am most thankful for.
I am most thankful for the following:
- For the gift of a loving family
- For the gift of a healthy body
- For the gift of happiness, joy, love, and company
- For the gift of my voice, that I may continue to speak up against injustices
- For the gift of the global community, that I may continue to encourage myself and others to engage with their international brothers and sisters
- For the gift of harmony
- For the gift of understanding, empathy, and compassion
- For the gift of God, that I may continue to live my life with His guidance
- For the gift of acceptance, that I may continue to accept the things that I cannot change
- For the gift of education, that I may use such a gift to enhance global unity and understanding
- For the gift of struggle in my life, that I may use it to strengthen my potential, abilities, and perspective
- Finally, I am thankful for the gift of gratitude, that I may continue to appreciate the blessings in my life, while not taking it for granted
Being thankful for life, the blessings in life, and your place in life is important. In order to move on in life, we all must take time to account for the things in which we are thankful for. Without thankfulness, we take things for granted, and once we take things for granted, we risk its presence in our lives. Let’s continue to make lists like these. One need not write it, but to think about it is enough.
Although Thanksgiving has passed, Happy Thanksgiving to you all, and please continue to cherish the blessings in your life.
Thank you for tuning in.
