Congratulations, you're a lumberjack! Now that you've chosen what some have described as the best college in the nation, you've got some great years ahead of you. There are a myriad of things to do and experience while attending SFA, but here are 30 you should definitely make a point to do at some point before your time here comes to an end.

1. Attend Jack Camp

Jack Camp is one of the greatest things you can do for yourself as an incoming freshman, and, honest,y it should be mandatory that every person goes. You make friendships at Jack Camp that can last forever.

2. Attend (and tailgate) a football game

It's the biggest and best darties that SFA throws. Tailgating at a football game is almost a right of passage.

3. Experience Battle Of The Piney Woods

The biggest game of the year against our rivals Sam Houston that happens every fall at the NRG stadium in Houston. It's THE GAME with the best tailgating and you can;t miss out on a chance to watch SFA own Sam Houston.

4. Trash Sam Houston a little

What's a bearcat, anyway?

5. Go to the homecoming bonfire

A bonfire and a concert is a great way to kick off the Homecoming festivities!

6. Attend a basketball game

Not as much of a party as the football games, but still something everyone should experience.

7. Go to BAG Night

Wednesday nights at Frogs and Flashback offer a Big Ass Glass of your drink of choice for a price that won't break the bank. You can't miss out on this. After you're 21, of course.

8. Go to a frat party

What's the college experience without going to a huge frat party? C'mon, it'll be a story to tell your grandkids!

9. Go dancing at Banita

Put on your cowboy boots and hop on over to the where the biggest country concerts in Nacogdoches happen!

10. Go to Lumberyard on a Thursday night

I promise you won't be disappointed

11. Fuzzy's

Fuzzy's isn't unique to Nacogdoches, but it's the place to hang out, eat good food, and drink margs, especially on a Monday.

12. Tonkowa

It's where all the people are come Fourth of July or Labor Day.

13. Go to an SI session.

Nerdy, I know, but you just might get all the answers to a test you didn't study for.

14. Join an organization

SFA is teeming with organizations, and it's a great way to make new friends.

15. Late night studying at IHOP with your friends

Finals can be hard, 3 a.m. pancakes can make memorizing biology so much more enjoyable.

16. Eat at one of the cafeterias

You can't complain about something until you've tried it, right?

17. Participate in the Big Event

Give back to the community and have fun with your friends while you're at it.

18. Take a Cap and Gown Picture in front of the SFA sign.

You have to let the people driving down North Street know you finally made it!

19. Participate in The Big Dip

Momentarily dye your hand purple the way SFA has permanently dyed your heart purple.

20. Graduate

Between the frat parties, the friendships, the heartbreak, the late nights that turned into morning, all the classes your forced yourself to go to were for this moment. So get your degree and go be an adult!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
