Something about the spirit and magic of Christmas just gives us all a certain feeling of comfort and happiness. Some people, as they grow older, become, ehh-hmmm, Scrooges, and lose that awesome Christmas spirit.
But for me, there are several things my inner child will never outgrow at Christmas time...
1. Baking cookies
Yes yes yes! I look forward every year to making dozen of cut out Santa’s, trees, and snowmen. With every color of icing and sprinkles. (While sneaking a bite of cookie dough).
2. PJs, movies, hot cocoa
Yes, I would love to watch the polar express while snuggled up in my penguin PJs and drink hot cocoa out of my snowman mug!
3. The excitement of tearing open wrapping paper
50% of the fun of opening gifts is admiring the beautiful wrapping paper and then tearing it open like your life depends on it!
4. Board games with the family
Honestly, if I don’t get to put at least 15 bulbs up and candy canes on the tree (and maybe even the star), I’d be pretty upset.
