Because nothing beats your first love.

1. Snow Days

Whether you're a third-grader or a third-year college student, getting a class cancellation email is a feeling unlike any other. You lounge around all day, cuddling with roomies and Netflix, and it seems as though life can't get any better — that is until your stomach rumbles. More often than not, you find yourself begging and bribing the surrounding pizza places to deliver to campus because you can't bring yourself to make the trek to the dining hall. What do you mean you won't deliver? It's just a blizzard! A girl's still gotta eat.

Midnight Breakfast

I dare you to find another college where the dean of students, the head basketball coach and Dominican friars prepare and serve breakfast at midnight to students on the night before exams start. The food is gone within minutes, and obscure things are seen. You don't know where these kids are coming from or where they're headed. God Bless on tomorrow's exams.

Relay For Life

One of the most emotional and moving nights at Providence College, Relay For Life has brought so much meaning to my college career. Camped out on the cool floors of Peterson, you'll find yourself connecting and learning so much about yourself, friends and strangers alike. Broken up into teams, yet united under the same cause, one truly gets the true essence of the Friar Family coming together, praying for one another and wiping each other's tears as the fight against cancer continues.

Golf Eve

"Twas the night before golf, and all through Ray Hall, girls were trading the Lilly dresses they wore in the fall" — Sammy McSweeny

At Providence College, the Night Before Golf is equivalent to Christmas Eve, for the girls at least. We give New York's fashion week a run for their money as we pick through the piles of Lilly dresses. It doesn't matter whose dress it is; that can be later identified through the ample amount of pictures. Nails are painted, shoes are shined, hair is done, and the hours are counted until brunch.

Civ Scream

Go to civ scream they said. It'll be fun they said. But you know what they didn't say? You get pelted by eggs. I can't make this up, I promise. But you know what? I'd get pelted by eggs any day if I didn't have to step foot into another civ lecture hall again because gathered on the quad celebrating the completion of civ is a beautiful feeling — unless you're an honors student, to which I say I'm so sorry.

Late Night Madness

Whether you worked the floor (shout out to PC Student Congress ), performed or watched from the passionate and animated stands, it is without a doubt that Late Night Madness was one of the most hyped nights at Providence College. The kickoff night for winter sports is filled with jubilation, thrill and adrenaline as key speakers give a few words and performance teams take the floors. Nothing beats dancing on tables echoing the words of Big Sean.

National Championship

Saving the best for last and rightfully so. The Providence College men's hockey team left an unforgettable mark on the history of the institution. Whether you watched the games on or off campus, you ended up in the same place, Eaton Street, a trademark of our times here, celebrating an incredible feat. When the odds were stacked against us, this small college proved many wrong. The chants of "Let's Go Friars!" will never echo as loudly as that night.

College involves a whirlwind of emotions, whether it’s from the stress of an assignment (or twenty), or from fighting with your roommate.
