1. It's okay to start from the bottom
We all start from there. Nobody is born into glory; if you are, well, you're the few and the far in between. We all have to work for something. Whether you're an athlete, a brainiac, a genius, a musician, a doctor, an engineer, a cheerleader... we all start from scratch. From nothing. A chunk of chocolate chip cookie dough ready to be molded and shaped and cut. We start from the very bottom and we work our way up. Fate works in mysterious ways.
Sometimes terrible ways, sad ways, or downright scary ways. Except, in the end, everything was meant to be. We work hard, we discover our dreams, passions, and talents, and we work until we're at the top of the game. Life works in mysterious ways. Maybe it's fate, or maybe it's hard work, (or, maybe it's a little bit of both?).
If you have the passion, the drive, and the relentless motivation- you'll get where you want to be. The Lombardi Trophy can, too, be yours, or straight As- whatever warms your heart.
2. Good things take time
52 Years. It took 52 years for the Philadelphia Eagles to take home their first ever Superbowl win. And you know what, that just makes the win 52 times as sweet as it could be. That just makes it that more special and incredible and unique and life-changing. This is a once in a lifetime type of thing, and that's exactly how Philadelphians are treating it- a once in a lifetime experience.
3. It's a good thing to live in the moment
Shout out to my bae, Nick Foles. Or should I say, Saint Nick? I've seen countless videos questioning and contemplating where Nick is going to land in the future. Trade him? Is it worth it? Keep him as a backup? Starter? Mentor? Carson Wentz? So many people are getting in over the heads, when right now, we should be content and joyous in the moment; this is our time. The Eagle's time to shine. Let them be, at least for now. We can worry later. Whatever is meant to be will be. This is what they've worked for, and this is what they've earned.
4. It's all about each other. Love is everything. Passion overcomes all.
In the end, it's all about what you've got. The brothers and sisters by your side, through rough times and the good ones too. The teammates that support you and have your back at all times. Win or lose, if you have people that love you unconditionally, you are blessed.
5. Take risks.
The detrimental "Philly Philly" Play wasn't guaranteed to work. Nobody knew what would come out of that. The Quarterback, the other players, Doug Pederson. The one thing that everyone had, however, was strength. They persisted, and they fought until the very last play. Life doesn't need to be organized to every single play. Take risks, try new things, and go into every situation fearlessly and confidently. If it fails, it fails, and that is perfectly okay. But what if it succeeds?
A positive mindset is everything.
Be grateful. Take nothing for granted.
Be content. Life is way too special, you are way too blessed, and your future is more beautiful than you could ever imagine. It's all about what you make of it.
“I think the big thing is don’t be afraid to fail,” Foles said. “In our society today, with Instagram and Twitter, it’s a highlight. It’s all the good things. When you look at it, you have a bad day, you think your life isn’t as good, you’re failing. Failure is a part of life. It’s a part of building character and growing. Without failure, who would you be? I wouldn’t be up here if I hadn’t fallen thousands of times, made mistakes. We all are human. We all have weaknesses. Just being able to share that and be transparent."
“I know when people speak and share they’re weaknesses, I listen. Because I can (relate). I’m not perfect. I’m not Superman. We might be in the NFL and we might have just won the Super Bowl, but we all have daily struggles. That’s where my faith comes in. That’s where my family comes in. I think when you look at a struggle in your life, just know that it’s an opportunity for your character to grow.” -Nick Foles, 2018 Quarterback of the Philadelphia Eagles, as well as the named MVP of Superbowl 52.
