1. I promise I'm not a snob!
I just feel very awkward in social situations, even with some of my closest friends, let alone strangers or acquaintances. So if I'm quiet around you or don't actively seek you out in public I'm not trying to be mean! It's probably just an attempt at self-preservation cause I'm painfully awkward and shy, and terrified of being known as "the weird kid."
2. Social Interaction is HARD WORK.
For introverts, socializing is EXHAUSTING! It takes a toll on me, and afterward I need time to recuperate. Sometimes I can turn on the charm and work the room. Other times I'd rather eat a spider than interact with other humans. (Variables that factor into the above analogy include how much sleep I've gotten, who I'd be seeing, etc.)
3. Quiet? I prefer observant.
I once got "The Quietest Award" as a paper plate award. Yes, I'm quiet. But it doesn't mean I'm not paying attention. I can hear everything you're saying. (Whether that's a good thing or a bad thing is up to you and what you say when I'm around...)
4. I'm always here to listen.
I'd personally rather have deep, meaningful conversations than just chit chatting for hours. I'm happy to be there for you when you need to rant or when you need advice!
5. However, I will love you forever if you genuinely listen to me too!
Listening is just part of what I do. I'll always be here for my friends. But sometimes I need to rant about things too! If you lend me an ear you will probably be my favorite person ever. No joke.
