I know that in college it can be hard to be that single friend. When all of your friends are spending time with their significant other and you are left to do your own thing, it's easy to get caught up in trying to find a relationship for yourself.

It can be especially hard if your friends are also trying to set you up with someone or pushing you to get with that boy that you've just kept on the back burner. However, here are 10 things that you can do rather than getting a boyfriend in college:

1. Find a new hobby.

This can be anything from intramural sports, writing, riding horses or crafting. Myself, I chose to craft and therefore picked up crocheting to take up some of my free time. Because your crafts won't just wake up and leave you one day.

2. Join clubs.

There are a plethora of clubs and organizations on college campuses. Find something new to join. This is a great way to meet new people and open more opportunities for yourself.

3. Explore the culture in your college town.

There are lots of little things that make each college town unique whether the town is big or small. Explore new restaurants, antique shops, and local natural wonders. This will give you a new appreciation for your college town and it will be special to you.

4. Spend time with friends.

While I do admit that they can be busy and may not want to hang out with you all the time. Your friends will be with you through thick and thin. They are the best to make memories with.

5. FOCUS ON YOUR SCHOOL WORK!

I know it's college and there should be a healthy balance between fun and school. However, school is the reason why we are here so you should put more effort into studying and doing good in your classes.

6. Go to school events!

Whether that be sporting events or just other random things don't just stay in your room all the time. Once again put yourself out there. Have fun.

7. Take time to go see family.

I know that they may be the least of your worries with exciting college life and what not. However, they are always going to be there even when everyone else isn't. Don't forget about them!

8. Work out!

Freshmen 15 is a real thing. Take time to work out and take care of your body. I know it's not the most fun thing to do but it's still more productive than getting in an unwanted relationship.

9. Binge-watch Netflix.

While I do admit that it is important to go out and be social you have to make time to just binge watch Netflix and have a night to yourself. It's refreshing to be in your own company from time to time.

10. BETTER YOURSELF!

This is your time to focus on you! Be the BEST version of yourself! Focusing on yourself is important now while it's just you and you don't have other things to worry about. I can't stress this enough it is so important!

I know that having a boyfriend in college can be fun and there are perks. However there is so much more to college than getting into a relationship!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
