In your darkest days it can seem like no matter what people say, there’s no light at the end of the tunnel. It seems like you’re going to be stuck in a bottomless pit for the rest of your life with no hope for things to get better. It feels like there’s no escaping that voice in your head that’s telling you that you’re not worth it. You stop thinking about the future because you aren’t even sure if you have one. All the colors slowly fade from your clothes until you’re only wearing black and grey. Your friends stop coming around, and you don’t blame them because you don’t even want to be around yourself.
You start to wonder what you did to deserve all the darkness that has been floating around you. You question everything you’ve ever done as to whether or not it was the reason for all of these negative things in your life. You feel like there’s something going wrong everyday. You stop enjoying anything good in your life because you know that something bad will happen in return. You doubt your worth as a person and begin to look for ways to stop feeling so empty. You slowly lose the person you’ve always been, and just become a person stuck in the shadows.
Something’s going to change all of that. There’s going to be a moment that shifts your entire world, and gives you back the hope you lost long ago. You’re going to find yourself dreaming again. Colors will slowly find their way back into your wardrobe. You’ll smile more, and you’ll find those real friends that you’ve always deserved. That voice in your head will getting quieter and quieter everyday until you don’t hear it anymore. You’ll notice the good things that happen and appreciate them more. You’ll start seeing things in a way that you didn’t before. You may not know that moment when it happens, but when you look back, you’ll know. It gets better. Don’t give up on yourself before you see that day. Someday you’re going to look back on those difficult times and be proud of yourself for all that you’ve accomplished.
