14 Things That Every College Girl Is Thankful For, As Cliché As It Might Sound

This Thanksgiving, there are a few things that every college girl is eternally thankful for. It may seem super cliché, but it's the truth. Thanksgiving is about taking a step back and appreciating all the wonderful things in your life, so these are a few things that all college girls are thankful for this year.

1. Family

Whether it's her biological family or the people who might as well be family, every college girl is grateful for the people who helped make her the young woman she is today.

2. Friends

Just like her family, she wouldn't be where she is today without a few remarkable friendships.

3. Adventures

Having the ability to experience new things and travel to new places is something that every college girl appreciates. College is an adventure in itself, but it's those spontaneous weekend trips to the beach or the nearest city that are the icing on the cake.

4. Game Days

In the south, game days are an excuse to dress up, take cute pictures, eat good food, and spend time with friends. This is why every college girl is thankful for days like this.

5. Her Education

While college girls may complain constantly about their workload, deep down they are really very grateful for their education. Education is one of the most valuable things that she has and no one can take away her mind.

6. Her Passion

Like her mind, her passion is one of the few things that is entirely her own. What she does with her passion is all up to her. Most college girls wouldn't be the same without that one thing that pushes them to be their best self.

7. Her (or her friend's) Pet

While not every college girl has a pet of her own, she certainly is thankful for someone's pet out there. There is an adorable fluffball in every girl's heart.

8. Caffeine

Caffeine is what gives college girls the energy to work hard even when their "passion" is exhausted and begging for rest. If you're a college girl that isn't addicted to caffeine, I applaud you.

9. Her Opportunities

Believe it or not, girls have more opportunities today than ever before. With a good education, there is no limit to what women can succeed. If that doesn't inspire you to study, I'm not sure what will. Seize the day-- in the library.

10. Food

Every college girl has that one meal that she's obsessed with. If there is one thing that college girls truly love, it's food. This is why every college girl is thankful for the nutrients that give her energy to accomplish her goals.

11. Her School

She literally wouldn't be where she is today without her school... probably because she'd be at a different one. Anyways, she picked her school for a reason, and she's probably super thankful for everything that it's given her.

12. The song she can't stop listening to right now

Just want to throw it out there that Taylor Swift's new album is actually really good and I'm pleasantly surprised because New Taylor had me a little worried. However, even if she's not listening to "Reputation" nonstop, she's listening to something and she's pretty darn happy that it exists.

13. Chipotle

Enough said... but fine, if you're not a Chipotle fan, you can insert your go-to restaurant here.

14. College Memories

College is a whirlwind, and every college girl is thankful for all of the amazing memories that she's made so far and the people that she's met along the way.

A lot of the time, we college girls take these incredible things for granted. However, these are things that we need to take the time to appreciate not only around Thanksgiving but all year round.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
